Congratulations Kaehla and Keenan!
Despite her knowing intuition, Keenan kept the proposal a secret until the very last second. Making the memory the most thoughtful surprise she could have dreamed of.
“Keenan proposed to me on the beach at Lake Michigan just before sunset. Going into the weekend, I was convinced it was going to happen—but by our last night, I was completely thrown off. At dinner, Keenan, his sister Lilly, and her boyfriend had me fully convinced it wasn’t happening after all.
After dinner, I thought we were heading out for a simple walk along the beach—the same spot we had visited three years earlier on our two-year anniversary. Instead, Keenan led me to a beautifully planned setup, and in that familiar, meaningful place, he asked me the most special question.“
The stunning pair kept their wedding day classic, classy and timeless with a black tie theme. Ensuring every detail, down to the venue, was intentional and held meaning for the couple.
“Our wedding was classic black tie with soft, romantic touches throughout. The bridesmaids wore buttercream yellow and each chose her own style from Show Me Your Mumu, which made the look feel both elevated and personal. We were married at Lakelands Golf & Country Club in Brighton, Michigan—a place that holds deep meaning for our family, as my husband’s family has been members there for over 25 years.
Before meeting Keenan, I had never golfed, but it quickly became something I fell in love with doing alongside him, making the setting feel especially full-circle. Our ceremony took place outdoors on the course, followed by an indoor reception with 175 of our closest family and friends.
The florals were classic and timeless—white roses and baby’s breath arranged in elegant ceremonial urns. We enjoyed a plated, in-house dinner, and the celebration continued all evening thanks to our incredible band, The Ones and Twos, who truly kept the energy alive. One of our favorite personal touches was our audio guest book from After the Tone, which has been so special to listen back to. The images from our gallery truly capture the feeling of the day and bring all of these details to life.“
For the couple, there were so many beautiful memories from their special day, that it is naturally impossible to choose one alone. For Kaehla, however, a stand out moment of the day was her talented husband taking the stage with a special performance planned just for her.
“It’s nearly impossible to choose just one favorite moment—aside from saying “I do.” My husband and I still talk about how not only was it the best day of our lives, but how seamlessly everything came together. There wasn’t a single hiccup. I planned the wedding with the constant love and emotional support of my husband (then fiancé), along with my family and friends, who truly kept me grounded through the entire process.
If I had to choose one standout moment, it would be when my husband surprised everyone by stepping on stage. What no one else knew was that he had secretly planned to play electric guitar to Layla by Eric Clapton—except the lyrics were changed to my name. It was incredibly special. He’s so talented, yet rarely plays in front of others, which made the moment even more meaningful. Even the band shared that they don’t usually invite grooms to perform, but Keenan’s skill and deep love of music spoke for itself.”
Kaehla fell in love with North for it’s clean elegance and timelessness. Choosing to wear the dress without the sleeves for a steamlined look that truly lets her bridal beauty shine.
North wasn’t just the dress I chose—it was the dress that chose me.”
– Kaehla
“I tried on several Serene by Madi Lane gowns at Gina’s Bridal Boutique in Milford, Michigan—and the experience there was absolutely amazing. The craziest part? North, my dress, was the very first gown I tried on. From the moment I stepped into it, I felt so beautiful—timeless, elegant, and completely myself.
Of course, I continued trying on dresses (about 15 in total!), but it ultimately came down to two that I wanted to see again with my veil. The second I put North back on, added the veil, and held a bouquet, the room fell quiet, and emotions took over. It was one of those rare, undeniable moments of knowing. This was the dress I would say yes to—the dress I would walk down the aisle in.
As if it was meant to be, North required little to no alterations, which felt like a true gift. With only three months to plan our wedding, timing mattered. After five years together, we chose not to have a long engagement, and somehow, everything aligned perfectly. North wasn’t just the dress I chose—it was the dress that chose me
Try on North and celebrate the beauty of pure love today!
